SNAP, debit, credit, WIC
You may notice a lot of different currencies at the farmers’ market. So many kinds of “funny money” that we have currency guide posted at the market booths and on A-frame signs here and there.
Yes, we still take cash!
Some but not all vendors are equipped to take debit and credit cards. You can use debit/credit cards at all three outdoor market sites. Go to the market booth and change some plastic into wooden tokens. It’s fun and easy. The debit tokens also make great gifts or incentives!
The main thing we do at the market booth is convert SNAP to tokens/vouchers are $1 (no change). We match SNAP up to $20 per day with Double Up Food Bucks, a $2 voucher.
Many eligible vendors take WIC and Senior vouchers from June through November.

Animals in the markets
In 2009 the Oregon Department of Agriculture instructed farmers’ markets to restrict animals other than service animals to the main aisles of the market.
Here are some tips that will make everyone’s market experience better:
Bring an additional human, if at all possible, to hold the leash while you enter stalls to shop. Not all vendors have their cash box up front.
Always keep leashes short enough to minimize trip hazards and prevent unwanted interactions with other dogs and people. Voice control does not comply with city ordinances.
Just in case … Add an extra bag to the produce bags you bring so you can make a quick recovery.
